Schizophrenia Deliberation

March 23 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The peak age in having a schizophrenic break is early adulthood; the same age range as the typical college student. Unfortunately, schizophrenia is not talked about enough and even shied away from within the mental health community especially on college campuses because it makes people feel “uncomfortable.”

1.1% of the world population over the age of eighteen has some sort of form of schizophrenia. That is 51 million people worldwide and 2.2 million people in the United States alone. One out of ten people with schizophrenia takes their own life through suicide. Another four out of that ten attempt at least.
